Webinar On-Demand

College Decisions & Mental Health
Understand Stress and Supporting Students of Color

with Dr. Jioni Lewis
Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology
University of Maryland (UMD)

Aired Live Webinar: Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 1 PM EST

About this Conversation
College acceptance season brings with it a range of emotions from joy and disappointment, to anxiety and overwhelm, both for students and their families. The stressors of the current COVID pandemic, related economic hardship, and the nation’s racial reckoning has intensified the pressure on high school seniors as they think about their next chapter and struggle to make “the right” college decision. Join our panel of experts to understand the impact of major decisions on mental health and emotional well-being, develop strategies for coping during these transitions, and explore approaches to help high school students in their decision-making and preparation for college. This event is open to students and families of color and those who support them.
